Why I’m Selling
As you can tell from my senior picture above, I absolutely love this car. It was my dream car, and it kills me to sell it.
The cars of the ‘70s feature a level of luxury that is unsurpassed; less maybe by Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Nothing rides like a Lincoln, nothing feels like a Lincoln, and nothing looks like a Lincoln. These cars were a statement. They said: I am successful, look at what I can afford, I will spare no expense for luxury and style.
Anyway, I just fell in love with the whole idea of what a Town Car is and what it was designed for. In 2008 I decided to make my dream come true and purchased the 1979 Town Car pictured above and below.
For the past 2 years I have had a great experience with it, and not only have I learned much more about cars, but I have learned why Ford is so good at making them; or at least was; I can’t really speak for their current vehicles….plastic and all. This is true Detroit iron.
To make a long story short, the reason I have to part with my Land Yacht is because I just can’t afford the time to take care of her, nor can I afford to fund her love of gas. With the huge 400ci V-8 engine, this doesn’t exactly have the fuel economy of a Smart Car.
Now attending college, (which is getting more expensive by the minute) I don’t have the time and money for a classic car. She needs a good home.
She is my DAILY DRIVER, and MY ONLY CAR! So I am asking $3500.00 for her ($1000.00 less then what I paid for her…) and have put over $1,000.00 of documented work into the vehicle which includes:
New Tires
New Carb
New Ignition Module
New Tie-Rods
New Distributor
New Accelerator Pump
New Breaks and Calipers
New Battery with Warranty
and other minor work.
I drive her every day, and she is very reliable. You can contact me with any questions or comments or to set up a time to see the car:
